Kieran Norton

How long have you played the drums?

I have played the drum kit and other percussion for 8 years. I started in the concert band at Eddy Elementary School.

What other instruments do play?

I also play the ukulele and a little bit of guitar. Recently I have picked up playing the Bodhran which is a traditional Irish drum played with a double sided mallet.

What ensembles have you been a part of?

I have been apart of the Jazz Band for four years of high school, while also playing in the drum line and pep band. This past fall I played in the pit band for the musical "A Chorus Line". Outside of school I have played with the rock band "Route 6" and have also done professional recitals around the Lower Cape.

What's your favorite jazz band memory?

It is hard to determine a single favorite memory since we have had so many good times through the years, however as a freshman I really enjoyed the B-day lunches when many of us would sit in the lobby talking, eating, and joking around. I learned a lot about high school here and became friends with several of the upperclassman.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Being a part of this jazz band has been my most valuable experiences while at Nauset and it is truly and unlikely combination of unique characters. We are like a large family all sharing our love of good music.
