How long have you played the piano?

I've been playing piano since first grade!

What other instruments do play?

I used to be part of the percussion section, so I can play just about any percussion instrument (except for drum kit). I got especially good at the timpani and the marimba/bells, especially since the marimba is just a piano that you hit instead of poke.

What ensembles have you been a part of?

In middle school I was part of the Concert Band and the Jazz Band. I've been in this jazz band since freshman year, and I've been part of the pit band for the musicals just as long. I've also been part of a few small groups, notably Route 6.

What's your favorite jazz band memory?

I'll never forget the absolute nightmare that was the MAJE state festival in my junior year. I've never had so many bad things happen to me in one day, but we pulled it off and I think the Jazz Band pulled off one of their best performances to date.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Music has been one of the best and most formative parts of my entire high school experience. Thank you to all of the friends I've made in the Jazz Band, to the music department for making so many amazing things happen, and to every ensemble I've been a part of for making me who I am.
